Hey Red Keeps the Party Goin’ With
The Best Mix of R&B, Swing, Blues and Pop

Time to check out Hey Red, the good-time Rochester, N.Y., band with the best mix of R&B, swing, blues and pop.  This red hot group with a cool new take on club music blends a variety of musical backgrounds to produce a special kind of energy and soul — then turns it loose on a fresh yet familiar mix of songs that lifts you out of your seat and keeps the party goin’!

Driven by Beth Steele’s powerful vocals, backed by top-shelf guitar and keyboard work plus rock-solid bass and drums, Hey Red has packed some of the area’s top clubs — the Dinosaur, Johnny’s, The Beale, Sticky Lips Juke Joint and more — all in its first year.  They do it with songs people love, but only Hey Red plays.

If you like Bonnie Raitt, Fiona Apple, Delbert McClinton, Annie Lennox, Alannah Myles … if you like your R&B, swing, blues and pop with an extra helping of groove and feel … then you’re gonna love Hey Red.  We’re booking dates now.

More on the members of Hey Red:

beth promo120Beth Steele Sigrist – Vocals: You have probably heard Beth – the ”red” in Hey Red – in the mix of Jerry Falzone’s CD, or caught her over at SoundClick. We’re glad Beth moved from being the front of Soul on Tap to taking the microphone for this group.

Bruce Diamond – Bass, Vocals: If you’re a Fandalism.com visitor, you might have caught Bruce whipping up a storm on the violin in Brian Lindsay’s “Last of the True Believers” video, or as a part of the music at Occupy Wall Street. He was the electrifying violinist for Tripping Billies, and contributed mandolin, fiddle and vocals to Rochester’s award-winning Jeff Riales Band. All this after 18 years with Watkins & the Rapiers.

Leon “Corky” Zak – Keys, Vocals:
Corky brings his full-throated Hammond B3 sound (among other great sounds) to the group. The “Zak” in ZaksPack, he started the group with his brother Mike Bonafede (from Black Sheep) in 1997 and still gets asked to do a couple gigs each year. More recently, Corky played keys for Border Town Country Rock and the Krista Hartwig Band. And yes, he’s they guy from the Fabulous Fury’s, Gunther’s Bus, The Here Below, Jacobs Downtown Trolley.

mike-dryda 120Mike Dydra – Guitar, Vocals: Mike is the guitarist with The Double Cross Band, a regular performer with the “Country Done Come to Town” Tour and one of the hit groups at Nashville’s in Henrietta. When he’s not playing, he’s busy getting older and fishing.

Bruce Hyland-120Bruce Hyland – Drums: After starting out as a vocalist in a couple long-forgotten teen garage bands, and then a brief stint playing snare in a drum & bugle corps, Bruce eventually got behind a drum kit during his Navy days and later with several contemporary Christian rock groups.  Between Hey Red gigs, Bruce plays original music with Light Blue, the local roadhouse / gospel / delta blues band (www.Reverbnation.com/lightblue), and folk-rock covers with Naples-based Jack Jones & the Stid Hill Stompers.
